                                    regarding one Domithilde LeBlanc

For one of my correspondents:

I am sorry to have to tell you that you are on the wrong trail regarding Domithilde LeBlanc. Your "aunt" Domithilde married at Bouctouche, May 18, 1857, Grégoire Bastarache, son of André Bastarache and Anne LeBlanc, and widower of Henriette Cormier. The record in the Bouctouche register states that she was a daughter of Sylvain LeBlanc and Ursule Bourque, so there can be no doubt. The Domithilde who married Philippe Bourque, on the other hand, was a daughter of Thébeau LeBlanc and Julie Dupuis. ( See page 167 in the Cahier about the 37 families.) Her original marriage record does not name her parents, as you mention, but additional notes in the register indicate that her father was "Thébo à Cécile." This Domithilde was born July 24, 1834, and was baptized the next day at St-Anselme. Philippe Bourque was a son of David Bourque and Apolline Bourque. He was thus "Philippe à David," rather than Philippe-David.
